Advantages

disadvantages

-       Distribution

-       Marketing

-       Diversification into different platform

-    Personnel (talented actors, directors create awareness and quality of film)

-

-       Funding (the more invested into the film, the more they would get back)

-       Ownership (investors buy equity of film, therefore you don't get all profits)

-    personnel (large costs)

Explain why an independent company often works with other companies as part of a joint venture. use examples to support your answer. (4 marks) (PEE structure)

an independent company works with other companies to produce a film in order to increase its budget, improve its marketing and better personnel. An example of this was the successful film 'get out'. These companies merge because the independent company doesn't have the funding to create a high quality film with well established actors and personnel, therefore they join forces with a large company. This will increase the company's box office sales and revenue.

4 - good benefit of using a joint venture

Explain two disadvantages of being an independent company. Use examples to support your answer. (6 marks)

1. one disadvantage is that they have to get funding from other companies. This lowers the percentage of how much of the revenue the independent company gets. This leads to the independent company not being able to afford certain features to their content. This will include not having a strong marketing campaign, because they will have no other companies to promote it with them. 1 - you need to include an example

2. Another disadvantage is that independent companies have to joint venture to create a high quality, successful film. An example of this would be 'Get Out'. This is because they had to joint venture with a larger company in order to get higher quality actors, staff and equipment. This would of lowered the amount of capital they received from the film because of the investment that the large company had, therefore making the film less profitable and worth it for the independent company.

2/6 - you need to make it a bit clearer and need to use examples.
